If you want to protect your system for example system desktop appearance, themes, and screen saver as well as other display settings against unwanted changes that other users can make, you can disable right click functionality on desktop
Follow the steps below to disable right click on the desktop windows
To use this feature, you will need to be logged into your computer with administrative rights.
1. Go to Start->Run and type “regedit”
2. Browse to the following registry :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
3. Then, right click on the white space in the right hand side and select New -> DWORD Value Type NoViewContextMenu (it is case sensitive), then assign number 1 in value data box.
4. Now close the registry editor and restart your computer after any changes to go into effect.
But next time, if you want to enable right click functionality on desktop change the value of data box to 0 or simply delete the NoViewContextMenu DWORD item.
