Paper For Printers

paper for printerInkjet and laser printers can print on a variety of surfaces, including photo paper, labels, business cards, stickers, and t-shirt transfers. When buying printer paper, there are a number of factors to consider. These include the brightness rating, the weight of the paper and the purpose it was designed for, but Keep in mind that paper made by your printer manufacturer is your best bet for compatibility.

Following these simple steps should help you out in your search for the appropriate type of paper for your printing needs.

1. You should determine what type of printer you have. There are two type of printer : ink-jet printers and laser printers.

2. Choose the weight of paper, The easy tips Heavier printing paper almost always is better than the lighter ones. This is because ink blotting is less frequent, as the paper is thicker. Thicker paper also can be more prone to paper jams in an inkjet printer. It’s recommended to read user's manual for the maximum weight of copier paper your printer can accommodate.

3. You should check the DPI (Dots Per Inch) of the photo printer paper. DPI is an indicator of how much ink the photo paper can absorb per inch on the page. Using low DPI photo paper for high-resolution printing will result in poor quality prints.

4. Pick ink-jet stock for important projects. The printing is crisper because the paper is smoother and less absorbent.

5. Choosing the right Paper on Purpose, To get the very best results, choose paper based on what you plan to do with it. All purpose paper is generally the cheapest kind of paper but it also tends to give you poorer results when printing pictures or color on it.

Select photo paper to print pictures on an ink-jet printer. This coated stock is very smooth and somewhat stiff, so the finished prints feel like photographs. Matte photo paper is less shiny than glossy. Buy special archival paper and ink if you're printing photographs that you'll want to last a long time without fading.
Choose color laser printer paper only if you have a color laser printer. It's not good for ink-jet printing. Laser prints are more permanent than ink-jet prints, and less likely to run and bleed because they use toner rather than water-based ink.

Wireless Barcode Scanner

barcode scanner wirelessWireless barcode scanners, also known as mobile computers and portable data terminals and data collectors, function as multi-use tools for your advanced data capture needs. Wireless barcode scanners are designed to enable the user scan barcodes even if he or she is walking farther away from the PC.

Wireless Scanners give the operator the freedom to roam around a warehouse, while staying connected to your network via the new Bluetooth technology. You can move your scanner to your products, rather than lugging heavy items to your scanner.
Mobility makes all the difference for ease of input, and many times you'll find that extending the cord of the existing barcode scanner isn't possible or practical. it is very conveniently mobile. In other cases, you can rid yourself of the PC and still be able to read and write the information onto a database in the network. This means, the barcode scanner has a network connection, where in, the software navigates toward the data source in order to update data.

Wireless barcode scanners for various uses seem to be taking over from the traditional corded type since they offer more freedom and the battery lasts for many hours. Whether your company works in a warehouse, retail environment or something else, you will find that a wireless 2D barcode scanner offers more versatility than the more traditional scanner models and gives a big boost to overall productivity.

When purchasing a wireless wedge scanner with the Bluetooth protocol, make sure its scanner has a driver that enables communication of the host device. In fact, there are scanners that even work with PocketPC devices.

Power Supply Tester

Power supply problem is one of the common PC problems, you might not expect like random lockups, spontaneous reboots, and even some serious error messages in your computer but if your Power supply fails working properly you will face of like the problem above.

How to Test Power Supply
From en.kioskea.net site I found step by step to test power supply manually. But remember you should be an advance user to test these steps and do it with your own risk.

You can follow the instructions below, To be able to test your computer's power supply:
1. Turn off your power switch and plug it out from the power supply.
2. Remove the cable from the CPU and start unscrewing the power supply section in order to remove the whole power supply (square metal box) from the CPU.
3. Once done, locate for the main ATX connector and find the green wire.
4. Also locate for the black wire near the green wire and with the use of a paper clip, connect and safely bond the two together with a piece of isolating tape.
5. Put back all the power supply and switch the system on again and ensure that your system ventilation is working.
6. To check whether the connection is correct, the Molex in between the yellow and black wire should display at least 12 volts.

Testing a power supply with a power supply tester is a safer than testing one manually. A power supply tester lets you stay a bit more removed from the electricity than with a multimeter test.

One of the recommended tools to test power supply is Coolmax 14909 PS-224 LCD 24-Pin ATX Power Supply Tester. The power supply tester is a robust voltage, tester for PC-power supply. ATX, BTX and ITX compliant, power supplies can be tested. indicate the status of voltage. The PC/SPS issuitable for the ambitious hobby user, as well as for a quick functional check in specialize trade.

The methods of operation
a. Plug power supply 24 pin and P4, P6 or P8 into the corresponding jack of the power test suit.
b. Power on the supply of the power, will hear DUDU ring, if no flicker then the power supply output voltage in normal.
c. if a certain voltage signal was not detected, or the detected voltage value over the normal, will issue a DUDU long buzzer: if the corresponding voltage value or PG flicker too, then the power is failed.

Full Backup, Incremental Backup and Differential Backup On Windows

backup hard driveFull backup is the starting point for all other backups and contains all the data in the folders and files that are selected to be backed up. Because the full backup stores all files and folders, frequent full backups result in faster and simpler restore operations. Remember that when you choose other backup types, restore jobs may take longer

Incremental backup
Incremental backup stores all files changed since the last FULL, DIFFERENTIAL OR INCREMENTAL backup. The advantage of an incremental backup is that it takes the least time to complete. During a restore operation, each incremental backup is processed, which could result in a lengthy restore job.

For example, if you did a full backup on Friday and incrementals on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and the PC crashes Thursday morning, you would need all four backup container files: Friday's full backup plus the incremental backup for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. As a comparison, if you had done differential backup on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, then to restore on Thursday morning you'd only need Friday's full backup plus Wednesday's differential.

Advantages:
1. Backing up is the fastest
2. The storage space requirements are the lowest
Disadvantages:
1. Restore is the slowest

Differential backup
Differential backup contains all files that have changed since the last FULL backup . The advantage of a differential backup is that it shortens restore time compared to a full backup or an incremental backup. However, if you perform the differential backup too many times, the size of the differential backup might grow to be larger than the baseline full backup.

Use differential backup if you have a reasonable amount of time to perform backups. The upside is that only two backup container files are needed to perform a complete restore. The downside is if you run multiple differential backups after your full backup, you're probably including some files in each differential backup that were already included in earlier differential backups, but haven't been recently modified.

Advantages:
1. Restore is faster than restoring from incremental backup
2. Backing up is faster than a full backup
3. The storage space requirements are lower than for full backup
Disadvantages:
1. Restore is slower than restoring from full backup
2. Backing up is slower than incremental backup
3. The storage space requirements are higher than for incremental backup
