6 Basic Ways to protect your email from hackers

email privacyYesterday my friend told me that his account email has been hacked by the hacker. And the worst thing is he uses that account email for login account and personal contact to his website.. and easy to guess his website has been taking over by the hacker too.

The Internet is a powerful communication tool, but at the time it can be a powerful tool for hackers and criminals as well. There is no guarantee you are going to be safe when you are on line to the Internet. You could be the next victim of a hacker if you're not careful.

Here are a few ways to protect yourself against email theft online:

1. Make sure you can trust the computer you're using to access your email. Avoid using public computer when you enter your personal information.

2. Use stronger and regularly changed passwords.
Don't pick a password that's obvious. That means no family members names, birthdays, a school you attend or other personal information which is easy to guess.

3. Don't click on e-mails that you do not know the sender.

4. Use up to date Antivirus and Antispyware software. Make sure your computer have a latest update/critical patch too.

5. Don’t make it easy on a hacker by choosing an easy security question. Instead, choose the option, 'write my own question.'
Don’t choose security question like “ who is my superhero”..etc

6. Don’t use your primary Email to login in social bookmark such as: Facebook, Friendster..etc
Its recommended to use another free email.
