5Pretty good phone
By Andrew Thai on May 20, 2015
For a phone under $200, this phone has met many of my exceptions for a phone. I'm going to list some pros and cons of what I thought was some good and bad of the phone, this does not necessarily mean that it should be a deal sealer or deal breaker because of my experience but just a reference you can go off of if you're concerned about what I'm going to talk about.
Pros: Processing speed, Overall quality, Packaging, Video, Video playback
Cons: Battery life, RAM, volume
Processing speed: the 8 core 1.7GHz processor was a nice processor that BLU added to this phone, having a 8 core processor allowed for smooth control over the phone and moving between apps was not bad. For gaming it was quite a nice processor, many of the games worked flawlessly and the CPU was able to handle it. The only downfall about this processor is because of the slim design the processor can get really hot. I have only experience this when my battery was less than 30% and I was gaming, so I would warn you to be careful. I'm sure there were many other factors that contributed to the heat.
Overall Quality: I mean after looking at so many phones, I'm sure one of the biggest deal sealers for this phone was because of it's slim design. With a 5mm design this phone is so thin that it's barely noticeable from your pocket. I think the slim design is really nice but I wouldn't have mind if it had 2 GB of RAM if it resulted in a slightly thicker phone. The 4.8" screen is quite nice, it fits in my hand perfectly. The only thing that many people might think they would have to get used to is the buttons (power and volume) are both on the left side of the phone. But overall I had no trouble transitioning. The case that they provided was also a nice bonus.
Packaging: As always I buy a lot from amazon and they meet my expectations every single time, The packaging and shipping from amazon and blu were nice, I received this phone on Sunday by my postal office mail because I did the free shipping option and I was surprised that my postal office would deliver this on Sunday because the USPS usually doesn't mail things on Sunday, so I did some researched and found out that Amazon and USPS has this deal in some states to ship on Sundays so if you're worried about the free shipping option and not getting it on sunday because it's at your USPS office you may actually get it. The packaging from blu was quite nice, the box that it came in was really secure and gave reassurance that the phone would be in good quality.
Video: I was super surprised about the video quality this phone has, for the price of this phone, I believe this is one of the best video quality I have come across for a while. Of course if you want even better you can get the Samsung Galaxy but that obviously costs more than $200.
Battery life: Now this is what many would consider a huge part of why they would buy a phone, I would say I'm not very impressed by this phone's battery life. The battery life drains quite fast and barely lasts a day when used for daily purposes. I have yet to actually run out of battery life in my month of using it though. But for those who use their phone more frequently I would recommend buying a portable charger.
RAM: For those who are a little more of a heavy user this piece of hardware will need to be better. Overall for daily use and normal browsing the web or checking email and many other apps are pretty decent, but I feel the 1 GB of ram really limits the potential of this phone especially with the 8 core processor, but for many people I don't think the 1 GB of RAM will be that bottleneck
Volume: After playing some music I found that if you're wearing headphones that sometimes there is static but that may be caused by some other things. The main thing I would complain about volume is that I don't feel that there is a big range from quiet to loud. Like the quiet side still sounds very loud. and the loud side is not very loud compared to some other phones like the BLU Studio Energy. So if you're a person who listens to music a lot, this may be a thing to consider.
Overall I would say this was a good buy and will last me a couple of years before I decide to upgrade.
Absolutely WOW!

I will start by saying that I am extremely particular about any tech that I purchase. Originally I was going to go with an iphone 5 s or 6 simply because Apple is a good well known product however, I did hear that the Blu phones were pretty solid smartphones. Well I had never actually used one or handled one. I decided to take a chance and went ahead and purchased the Blu Vivo Air. Let me tell you, the pictures do this phone absolutely no justice. This phone is so slim you almost feel like you would break it but it is solid it does not feel cheap in anyway. Whenever I have a smartphone I put it through the ropes, I will run apps back to back to back to back nonstop and I load my phone up with so many apps to where I literally have a hard time downloading emails because so many apps are on my phone. After a few days of having the Blu Vivo Air, I tell you what I've downloaded many many apps and not one has lag or crashed or given any type of problem on this phone, this phone is a rock solid piece of tech that I would absolutely highly recommend to anyone whether you are an Android user or Apple user, I would highly recommend the Blu Vivo Air smartphone.
